Emails in Outlook Express Damaged due to Virus Attack

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Although Outlook Express is a very good database that provides protection against the malware or the viruses from getting into your computer by detecting the potentiality of the virus that is present with any attachments, but sometimes it fails to detect the virus and hence your data that is there in Outlook Express gets infected with virus.

images34568653For example you receive an email from a friend of yours and it contains some virus infected files. Instead of getting your other data infected by this virus you try to delete the email message. But when you try to delete the file, you are unable to do so because every time the computer gets hanged. As a result of which the message is still there on the Outlook Express. Later on you try to change the settings of the Inbox in order to view this unread message but doing so automatically pops the infected message in front of your computer screen. Hence your endeavor of deleting this virus infected mail goes in vain. Further more, you are unable to view a single message that is there in your Inbox. Not only this you are also unable to send or receive any new emails.

In order to fix this problem of yours, close all the icons that is there on Windows including Outlook Express. Once you have done this, rename the Inbox.dbx file as Inbox2.dbx file. Open the Outlook Express and create a new folder as New Inbox and them close the Outlook Express. Again open the Outlook Express and copy all the emails from the Inbox2.dbx file and close the Outlook Express. Open the Outlook Express and paste all the emails to the new folder that you made and then close it. Open the Outlook Express and you can then get rid of the infected virus that is attached with the message. Not only this, you can send and receive emails like the way you used to do earlier. If this method does not help you then, use any 3 rd party software like Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery software to fix and sort out this issue.
